Apple Releases Public Betas of Liquid Glass Software

iOS 19, macOS Mirage, and more get a stunning new look – and a taste of the future

Apple has officially released the public beta versions of its upcoming operating systems, and this time, it’s not just about speed or widgets – it’s about style. The new “Liquid Glass” design language is front and centre in iOS 19, macOS Mirage, iPadOS 19, and watchOS 11, bringing a translucent, layered aesthetic that feels straight out of science fiction.

What is Liquid Glass?

Described by Apple as “next-gen interface chemistry,” Liquid Glass is a design overhaul that blends transparency, reflection, and motion in subtle ways. Menus float. Windows glide. Backgrounds blur dynamically. It’s modern, sleek, and very Apple.

Key visual upgrade: A fully reimagined UI that shifts light, depth, and texture in real time.

What’s New in Each OS

iOS 19: More interactive widgets, redesigned Control Center, and spatial audio baked into the interface.

macOS Mirage: A cleaner, lighter desktop feel with Liquid Glass layers throughout Finder and system apps.

iPadOS 19: Enhanced multitasking with floating, resizable app panes and magnetic window snap.

watchOS 11: Simplified glances and new gesture controls powered by the Neural Engine.

Who Can Try It?

The public betas are now available to anyone enrolled in Apple’s Beta Software Program. While early adopters will get a sneak peek at the future, Apple cautions that these builds are still under development and may have bugs.

When’s the Final Release?

Apple plans to launch the official versions of its Liquid Glass-infused software updates this fall, likely alongside the iPhone 17 and new M3-powered MacBooks.

Until then, developers and brave fans alike can start exploring the future of Apple software – and experience Liquid Glass for themselves.
